If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also
will abide in the Son and in the Father.”
1 JOHN 2:24
There is still much of Him to learn and to experience. There is much growing which must take place. The Path is a process. We are hardly ever as far along as we imagine ourselves to be. But we have not been talking about spiritual maturity, but spiritual satisfaction. If, in abiding continually in the Lord, He becomes our food and our drink, then we will grow.
Growth is not the result of time, it is the natural result of Christ increasing and us decreasing. The Law of Life says that Christ must increase. Now we can do nothing to speed up this process, but we can certainly hinder or quench it.
I sensed the Lord tell me recently that He was going to teach me to abide. I didn’t get it. I still don’t get it, but that’s OK…..I appreciate the thought that I can now associate with this, as I believe it is His heart: “He becomes our food and our drink”. All else pales compared to this- this side of Heaven.
P.S. I so enjoy the imagery you are using Chip- it speaks volumes 🙂
It was here that l learnt about The simple gospel of Christ, and that he now dwells in us. Saying that. “Yeshua is now my everything. Every breath l take. Every walk l walk, has a profound love and appreciation of this marvel. John 1:1
Thank you Chip for being so courageous to step away from religion. l also did that many years ago.
