of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables.”
-LUKE 8:10
The parables are not quaint little stories; they are prophetic declarations of spiritual truth, and they give us invaluable insight into this Irresistible Kingdom.
Concealing the truth within the context of a parable was necessary, Jesus said, because “To you [the disciples] it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to the rest it is given in parables.”
Those who want to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom have to have a relationship with the King. The mysteries of the Kingdom are reserved, not for passive listeners, but for true followers: so “when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples” (Mark 4:34).
Amen! Parables are really difficult to understand through our own knowledge. But we need the help of the Holy Spirit to let us understand each parable that we read from the Holy Bible. Through the Holy Spirit God will reveal to us God’s mysteries of His Kingdom. Praise the Lord! So, everytime we read the Bible , always ask first for the guidance of the Holy Spirit Glory to God.

Good morning Chip,
I once heard a speaker use this scripture and it always stuck with me: “Lord, why do you speak in parables & He said to them, because it is given to ‘YOU’ to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven, but to ‘THEM’ it is not given”
Being 2 types of people the ‘YOUS and the ‘THEMS.’ Of course we want to be in the ‘YOUS.’ 🙂 Some have spiritual eyes to see and spiritual ears to hear. Why? Because as you said we need to have that intimate relationship with the King. We must be true followers and disciples and we learn thru the Holy Spirit to have spiritual eyes and ears. It won’t come by being passive but searching and seeking and being true disciples and followers of Christ Jesus.
The mysteries of the kingdom of God is a most precious Gift!! Without spiritual eyes and ears we will never truly know the mysteries God has in store for His people. “John 10 v 4 says that Gods people don’t know the voice of strangers.” This I believe is why so many of Gods people are leaving man made temples. People cannot hear from God when a counterfeit is in the way. This is why it’s only in the quiet place of our heart that we will see and hear the Truth and mysteries of the kingdom. If we don’t come as a child with a submissive humble heart expecting to be feed, we will never inter in. “Colossians 2 v 3, says understanding and knowledge of Gods mysteries, is in Christ whom all things are hidden and all treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Oh yes Sherry, l’m in accordance with you
AMEN
In fact, the disciples of Christ are those who share Christ with a deep privacy. Who opened the door to Christ and sup with him day and night. In those where Christ shed His Spirit. and they have the Spirit of God they know the mysteries of the kingdom because they do not understand by human wisdom but by the wisdom of God because God’s Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 1Cor 2:11-16. By God’s Spirit we are led into all truth. Or Knowing the mystery of God hidden all the time is to know Christ. Col.2: 2b
When you realy try to put words of the Lord in action, event if it only written words, you start to understand what He was talking about. It’s like telling to a tourist what he will find in a far place.
Lovely Truths thanks Chip for sharing Lord Bless
