November 27
We are not zealous for the establishment of any earthly nation, but for a heavenly nation of kings and priests (Revelation 5:10). We are not praying for the building of a physical temple, but a spiritual temple, a house of living stones, of which Jesus Christ is the Cornerstone, Builder and Architect. We are not looking for the appearance of an earthly Messiah, but a Heavenly Messiah, Who is building His Ekklesia upon the earth; we are not of the earth. This is not our home, for we are from above. Though in the world, we are not of it. We will not eat its meat or drink its wine, and we will not bow down to its idols. Though we live in the shadow of Babylon, we are not afraid of its fiery furnace or its den of lions, for our God is able to deliver us.
The heavens do rule. We affirm it boldly and confidently, regardless of appearances to the contrary. The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory belongs to God (Matthew 6:13) – not man, not the devil, not the nations of this world.
You know my heart feels lead to pray for those of you who run churches.
You see I know you do your best to run a good faith based church for the Lord. To reach the fallen away and also the lost and to encourage those who attend to grow in their own faith walk.
But Pastor sometimes it is better to seek to listen to the Lord on a church morning, as you pray in fellowship. Than it is to continue with the program of events.
Today I was sent a blank devotional out in error, from another organisation, and it struck me. We are so full of human words and so unfull, or empty, of God’s words.
Go then into your place of prayer and seek to listen.
Then as you develop such a habit, you will learn how God wants to use you to build His church for Him.
Pastor you work so very hard but only one thing is needed and that is rest for has the Lord not said my yoke is light.
Trust comes when you spend time with the Saviour.
Peace comes as you realise the Saviour was there all the time, before you remembered to ask him for help.
Lord, my hearts cry to you is for all those in such a position of authority to find a deep deep need for more of you in their hearts. Then when they are in such a position of need, they will tend to you first and worship you as they seek to listen for you. First.
May they cultivate a habit for you.
Amen
God bless to you all,
Eve UK
Thanks for this encouraging word at a time when we all could use one!
Shalom, Chip
If only this message could be seriously considered by all the saints beguiled by these old but still vivid lies…
YHWH certainly do not live in the fortress Antonia, much less its ruins or in any man made building. The strength of the old lies of the world and the half-truths of religion is terrible! Accepting oneself as a priest and a king, heavenly anointed seems so difficult in front of the crooked views of religion.
Thank you brother, it has to be said again and again, the Heavens do rule!
Wonderful words from all of you, and I thank God for men and women of God who do walk in truth and seek to obey Christ as they follow Him. I thank God for those who are Spirit led, and courageous enough to stand alone in this lost, confused, self-centered world that not only rejects the truth, but the light that comes from the truth. I thank my Father for those so VERY precious brethren who encourage and lift up us all who walk alone with Christ in this dying “civilization”, when being a follower of Christ, walking in the Way attracts so much persecution and ridicule.
Today is thanksgiving, and you and I have so VERY much to be thankful for. In fact, every single thing, including the next breath we take is a love-gift from our God. Jesus hit the nail right on the head when He said “Without Me you can do nothing.”……even the life that fills these bodies he created is a gift from Him. But praise be to Him, and utter gratitude…..we can do ALL things through Jesus Christ our LORD who strengthens us. Thank You, thank You, thank You, blessed LORD! Amen.
Wonderful words Chip, and so true. But there is something about Jerusalem and the Temple Mount – and isn’t it amazing how much trouble there is over it. perhaps the enemy of our soul senses thinks if he can stop the Jewish Temple from being built he will delay the return of Jesus as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
I don’t think we should deny the fact that we are looking for the Messiah of Israel to return, not a Heavenly Messiah. He will someday rule as the earthly King of Israel, not only over Israel, but over the nations as well. If we deny this, then we deny Who Yeshua said He was and what the Prophets have written concerning the Messiah, His role and His mission concerning Israel and the nations. For His return and the establishment of the Kingdom of God in the world should be what we are longing and praying for.
Thank you very much Chip, ?
I always forget this point of view and I tend to just watch these horrible things around me and here below…
